Autumn Leaf Gifts in West Glen Town Center is closing, reports the Des Moines Register.

Neccica Hayes opened the shop four years ago and sold handcrafted work from American artists.

Hayes told the Register slow sales because of the sluggish economy is the reason for the store closing.

The closing sale begins today with 25 percent off items store-wide and larger discounts on Christmas and other select items. The display fixtures also are for sale, the newspaper said.

Store hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. The telephone number is 564-7230.
