Hillside Elementary to Hold Celebration Thanking Lutheran Church of Hope
Hillside Elementary will hold a celebration called, "Hillside's Journey with Hope" on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines.
Hillside Elementary will hold a celebration called, “Hillside’s Journey with Hope” on Tuesday, Oct. 30 at 10 a.m. at Lutheran Church of Hope, 925 Jordan Creek Parkway, West Des Moines.
The purpose of the event is to thank the church, which housed the school for the first few months of the school year, and to share what students have learned through the relocation process.

In July, the West Des Moines Community School District Board of Education voted and approved to act on administration recommendations to temporarily relocate students at Hillside Elementary. The relocation was due to a window replacement project that was designed to address existing window leakage and isolated cases of mold discovered in some of the windows. The window replacement and remediation project is concluding. The school is scheduled to return to its renovated building on November 6.
