Just be Grateful, Leave ROI Aside (Blog)
Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. It's days like today, Valentine's Day, that we are reminded by retail giants to do something to show our emotion.
It's easy, as a marketer, to get caught up in actions and efforts that have a measurable return on investment (ROI).
After all, that's our job, right?
Sometimes, however, it's ok to throw caution to the wind and embrace an opportunity to simply show gratitude to your customers, without considering a kick-back. In fact, those opportunities have the potential of yielding an immeasurable return.

For example, today is (collective sigh) Valentine's Day. Go ahead and "treat" your customers, clients or patients to a kind gesture without considering the return. A beautifully packaged chocolate at your point of checkout, a single rose for each patient, a phone call to a client to say "thank you" with no other agenda or simply, a warm smile (they're contagious, ya know).
Whatever it is, try it – whether it's today, or ANY day. The benefit of sharing emotion just might be the marketing edge your business needs.
