Volunteer with us at the Hy-Vee Fishing Derby (Blog)

The Hy-Vee Fishing Derby is two weeks away! Join us at Water Works Park on Saturday, May 18, from 8 am to 1 pm for a day of fishing. Children up to the age of 15 have the opportunity to fish and win prizes. This free event draws a large crowd - expected visitor attendance is 30,000 this year! 

We need 120 more volunteers for the Fishing Derby. Make it a bonding experience and volunteer with friends, co-workers or family. We need volunteers to help with parking, park clean up, handing out t-shirts, helping kids with bait, plus more. Funds raised from this event go directly to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Iowa’s mentoring programs. These funds allow us to make more life-changing matches between Bigs and Littles. Children’s lives are changed for the better, forever.
