'Archaeological Find' Could Further Delay Grand Avenue Bridge Construction
Des Moines' city engineer Jeb Brewer told WHO Channel 13 the object "may have archaeological significance".

Contractors working on the Grand Avenue bridge connecting Des Moines to West Des Moines stumbled across something a little unusual Monday.
Des Moines’ city engineer Jeb Brewer told WHO Channel 13 the object "may have archaeological significance", although he wouldn't tell the television station what the object was.
The discovery could delay construction of the bridge, the article said, but it won't be known until the end of the week once an archaeologist finishes the report on the object.
Lane openings on the bridge have already been delayed once, according to WHO. As of now, they are scheduled to open on Sept. 29.
