Burger Joint Opens in Former El Toro Restaurant Spot
EP True Burger Cafe opened for business in late March at 50th Street and E.P. True Parkway.

EP True Burger Café opened late last month at 50th Street and E.P. True Parkway in the space where El Toro Mexican Restaurant had operated, reports the Des Moines Register.
Owner Stephen Collins told the newspaper the eatery at 5014 E.P. True Parkway is a family owned business that Iowa products in its offerings. The menu includes a loose meat sandwich made from a secret family recipe, in-house smoked pork, beef, chicken and turkey sandwiches, tacos, burritos, enchiladas and a deep fried taco. The café also serves pizza, salads and burgers.
Collins also operates Route 169 Burger Café in Adel, and expects to begin serving breakfast there soon. The newspaper said he will add breakfast to EP True Burger soon after.

Hours are 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call 440-8486.
