Bus stop to relocate November 2

A bus stop at Valley West Mall serving four routes will relocate November 2

The bus stop at Valley West Mall, which serves four transit routes in the western part of the Des Moines area, will relocate to the northeastern part of the Valley West Mall area effective November 2, according to a news release from the Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority.

The bus stop will move to a location in front of the food court entrance on the lower level, between the JC Penney department store and the parking ramp. The routes affected include the #3, which comes from downtown via University Avenue; #52, which comes from downtown on Interstate-235 and stops at the mall before going to the Jordan Creek town center area; #72, which is a flex route that serves a large portion of West Des Moines between the Valley Junction area and the Jordan Creek Town Center area via Ashworth Road, University Avenue and 60th Street; and the #74, which connects Valley West Mall with the business parks in northwestern Urbandale along Interstate-35/80 to the north of Douglas Avenue. Route schedules will remain unchanged during this transition, according to information from DART. Riders should plan their trips accordingly.
