Buy Isabel Bloom Sculptures in West Des Moines and Support Breast Cancer Research

Collectible sculpture sends the message that attitude is everything.

The Isabel Bloom sculpture retail store in Valley West Mall will donate $5 to the Susan G. Komen Iowa affiliates from the sale of each "Miss Addi Tude" sculpture through Feb. 28, 2013.

The 9.5-inch sculpture of a confident-looking young girl comes with the message, “Attitude is a little thing that makes a big difference!” It recalls a time when “all it took was a feather boa and a pair of your mom's 'clicky' shoes to be transformed into whomever was your heroine of the day,” according to the artist Donna Young’s statement on the company’s web site.

Isabel Bloom began creating her trademark children’s sculptures after studying under the great regional artist Grant Wood in the 1930s. Designer Young joined Bloom as a protege artistic collaborator in 1986.

Donations will be made to both the Des Moines and Quad Cities Komen organizations for breast cancer education and research.
