Candidates in Nov. 5 City Election to Offer Views in Candidate Forum
Voters will choose between two candidates in at-large race, and three in Ward 1 contest.

The West Des Moines Chamber of Commerce invites area residents to meet the seven candidates running for four seats on the West Des Moines City Council at a forum scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, from 7 – 8:30 p.m.
The forum will be held at West Des Moines City Hall in the Council Chambers, 4200 Mills Civic Parkway, in West Des Moines.
Participating in the forum will be incumbent Mayor Steven Gaer, the incumbent Councilman for the At-Large seat, Ted Ohmart, and challenger Rick Messerschmidt, incumbent Councilman for the First Ward, Kevin Trevillyan, and challengers Edward Ames and Robert Parks, and incumbent Councilmember for the Third Ward Russ Trimble.

Each candidate will be given the opportunity to make individual introductory statements followed by written questions submitted by the audience. The forum will be moderated by Rob Newton.
The forum will be televised on the local West Des Moines government access channel. The general public is invited to attend at no charge.
