Charges Filed in Black Friday Shooting at Valley West Mall
Suspect charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon.

Nathaniel Lamice Yancey, 24, of Des Moines, has been charged with intimidation with a dangerous weapon in connection with a Black Friday shooting at Valley West Mall, the West Des Moines Police Department said in a press release.
According to police reports, three shots were fired around 3:50 a.m. in the Younkers department store parking lot at the mall, 1551 Valley West Drive.
Also today, the Des Moines Register reported that Yancey has been charged by Des Moines police with attempted murder in connection with an officer-involved shooting outside of 101 Lounge, 103 Third St., in Des Moines. He was taken into custody that night.

West Des Moines Police Lt. Jim Barrett said Yancey is currently held at the Polk County Jail.
