Clive Jaycees present the cutest 5K ever

Dogs and their humans of all athletic abilities are invited to the fifth annual Woofin' It 5K on May 9 at Campbell Recreation Area in Clive.

Dogs and their humans of all athletic abilities are invited to the fifth annual Woofin’ It 5K. The event, May 9 at Campbell Recreation Area, 12385 Woodlands Parkway in Clive, is a fundraiser for the Clive Jaycees and Furry Friends Refuge animal shelter.

The fun begins at 8 a.m. with registration, followed by a canine costume contest at 8:30 a.m. and the race itself at 9 a.m. Humans are welcome to run or walk, and to participate with or without their four-legged friends. After finishing, enjoy treats and refreshments and browse all of the booths at our pet expo.

Registration is $25 through April 15, $30 from April 16 to May 8 and $35 day of event. To register and find more information, go to clivejaycees.com/woofinit.html.

Furry Friends Refuge is a nonprofit humane organization serving the animals of West Des Moines, Urbandale and Clive. The volunteer-supported shelter adopted out 1,077 animals last year for a live-release rate of 97 percent, and it seeks to expand its no-kill community beyond these borders.
