Commit a Good Deed: Reach into Your Wallet, Help Low-Income Kids with Back-to-School Supplies

Here’s a great chance to help someone else while you’re shopping for back-to-school supplies. Pick up extra backpacks, notebooks, folders,pens, Crayons, glue, scissors – anything that’s on the school district’s supply lists – and help low-income kids in he West Des Moines Community School District get off to a better start.
Make sure you’re donating items that students need. Check here for school supply lists at the district’s different schools.

The drive continues through Aug. 9. Volunteers will begin distributing the supplies Aug. 12.

Drop off supplies at West Des Moines Human Services,318 Fifth St., between 8 a.m.-4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Fill collection boxes at the West Des Moines Public Library, 4000 Mills Civic Parkway.
Gently used children’s clothing and clothing are also needed. Better yet, consider a monetary donation or gift cards.
