Corporate Support for West Des Moines Business Incubator Helps Start-Ups

recently gave $5,000 to the West Des Moines Business Incubator, which has been sheltering West Des Moines start-up businesses since 2009.

Located at 2829 Westown Pkwy., Suite 220, the Business Incubator was created to foster a climate for entrepreneurial activity and assist small business growth. The Iowa Small Business Development Center provides assistance to tenants at no additional cost to them.

Black IOPS – This company is an IT storage system for private clouds, selling to businesses and government agencies.

Canvis – This company’s software serves the architecture, engineering and construction industries.

One Social Media – This startup is built around the overall development and fulfillment of strategic social media marketing campaigns.

KCL Engineering – This is a studio engineering firm that provides mechanical, electrical and plumbing consulting services for the design of industrial, commercial, educational, and residential projects, with special emphasis on geothermal and renewable energy design.

Midwest Testing Systems – This company provides background checks, drug testing and drug-policy development assistance.

International Trade Center – This company advises and trains small businesses in the area of export development.

Good Nutrient – This company is an online retailer of vitamins, supplements and alternative health products

Symbiotic Advantage – This website builds traffic and interests in local businesses and events by featuring them on ad pages and giving away controlled free stuff.

Current Wind – This company sells, installs, and services medium-sized wind turbines, ranging in size from 5kW to 100kW with the capability to install larger turbines, currently with a focus on rural businesses, including agriculture.

Source Trivia – This company provides a computer application and database that combines music and trivia for hosted events for clients such as DJs, event planners, party hosts.
