Trimble, who was first elected in November of 2009 and serves as West Des Moines Mayor Pro-tem, said that he is proud of his record.  Despite being elected in the midst of a weakened national economy, Trimble held the line on property taxes, resisted efforts to impose franchise fees and red light cameras and has maintained the essential city services citizens expect while aggressively attracting new businesses and good paying jobs. Over the last four years, Trimble has worked to attract retailers like Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s in addition to retaining great companies of all sizes that already exist. Additionally, Trimble supported the Wells Fargo and Microsoft expansions that continue to create good paying jobs and fulfilling careers for West Des Moines residents.

“West Des Moines is fast becoming the primary destination for those who seek good schools and safe environments for their kids, excellent career opportunities and a quality of life that is hard to match,” said Trimble, who works as an analyst in the Iowa Senate and received his Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Drake University. “I want to help keep the momentum going and I will always work to ensure our city government is responsive to the needs of our citizens and is fiscally responsible when it comes to your tax dollars.”

Councilman Trimble personally went door-to-door seeking feedback from residents during the last election and as promised, Trimble continued his door-to-door work while on the city council.

“Visiting with residents at their doorsteps has been the cornerstone of my service on the council. It is not my job to represent my own interests on the council, rather it is my job to hear the concerns and represent the interests of the people I serve. There is no better way to do this than visiting with residents at their door. We pride ourselves on having quality city services and I hear that at the door,” noted Trimble.

Trimble serves on numerous city committees as well as intergovernmental organizations across the Des Moines metro area. He and his wife Alana have four children and he enjoys spending time with his family and being involved in their many recreational and school activities.
