Couple Blames Contractor for Theft of Guns from Townhome
Eight guns taken from a house under renovation.

A West Des Moines couple suspect a worker with a contractor took eight guns valued at a total of roughly $4,500 from their townhouse as crews were working on it.
The husband called police on Nov. 10 to report the guns missing from their house in the 3600 block of Oak Creek Place. The couple had recently purchased the townhouse and left town on Nov. 5, returning on Nov. 9.
As they unpacked the next day, the realized the guns were missing.

The inventory included a .45 caliber handgun valued at $1,000, a Ruger .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with scope valued at $1,000, a Ruger .223 rifle valued at $1,000, and other handguns and a BB gun.
No charges have been filed.
