CF: As most fans know, UNLV transfer and Iowa State starter, Bryce DeJean-Jones was suspended for the Iowa game because of an original charge of, “Hosting a marijuana related drug house.” That charge was then dropped a few hours later, but the result remained the same. BDJ will be watching the game at the team hotel in Iowa City.

DH: Yes with Bryce Dejean-Jones out tonight, Cyclone fans will look to Matt Thomas to step up with more minutes and his ability to score. I think this sets Matt up to succeed because he’ll have more time to settle in and respond to opportunity instead of having some pressure to provide instant offense off the bench. Those of us who have seen him play in Y Cap City know that he is a versatile scorer with great touch and a phenomenal midrange game. I’m excited to see if he’ll get more opportunities that way.

CF: And we can’t forget about big Daniel Edozie, who will get the starting nod in place of DeJean-Jones. He will play a very important role to the momentum of the game, which is just one more thing Iowa State could utilize to win. So far this season, Iowa State has been playing for that three pointer to blow the roof off the place, now they’ll have to play for a mute button. Iowa State can use a number of players to out maneuver the Hawks.

DH: I’ll also have my eye out for Dustin Hogue. His low rebounding numbers have received some attention lately but I think it’s more than that. He spoiled us last year with such incredible hustle and energy that he seems a little more human so far this season. His incomparable efficiency inside with both hands has also dipped this season. He’s an amazing talent when he’s on his game and could be a huge factor tonight.

Thanks for reading, and enjoy tonight’s Game!
