Dancing With The Stars Controversy: Did Superstorm Sandy Save Shawn Johnson, Cost Sabrina and Louis?
Season 15: West Des Moines native Shawn Johnson is alive heading into Week 7.

Amid the property destruction and loss of life from Superstorm Sandy, a controversy has emerged center stage on Dancing With The Stars.
The controversy arises not so much because Disney singer/actress Sabrina Bryan was voted off in Week 6 after a perfect score the night before. Rather, some DWTS fans are angry that the vote counted at all, given the number of people affected by Superstorm Sandy who wanted to vote but could not.
Sure: Maybe no aspect of Superstorm Sandy's devastation is less important than who got the DWTS boot, but for some it's apparently a welcome diversion.

Whether that saved West Des Moines native Shawn Johnson or not will never be known, but she's still in the competition heading into Week 7 after the judges gave her lower scores than Bryan.

I have news for you, the people on the East Coast who couldn't vote this week (like me) are very upset but too many Sabrina haters tell us to stop whining. It's not even about Sabrina, it's about the fact that we were not given adequate opportunity to vote. If this is a popularity contest at least we should be able to vote in that contest.
And:
It really saddens me that as I read these messages about, this one being booted off, or not fair with the telephone votes, and blah, blah, blah, that I heard ONE (1) person say what a tragedy, New Jersey and its residents, suffered during this time, or if everyone was okay. If they still had a house and belongings and everyone was okay. Has anyone heard ONE of them say *I missed DWTS*? or *What happend this week* or *What dances and what order, did they do?*?, during one of their interviews?
And:
There's plenty more back-and-forth commenting over the storm and the impact it may have had on voting.
