DART announces changes to routes 6 and 16

Route 6 to serve Principal Park area

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) is making the following service changes beginning Sunday, June 4, 2017:

  • Local Route 6, which operates between downtown Des Moines and Southridge Mall, will re-route to begin serving Principal Park and additional residences and businesses on SW 2nd/SW 3rd. The map below shows the new route in yellow and discontinued portions of the route in gray.
  • Other changes include minor time adjustments to the schedules for Local Routes 6 and 16.

The new schedules for these routes are now available on ridedart.com. New schedules will be available on DART buses and at DART Central Station on Wednesday, May 31, 2017.

The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority is the public transportation provider that serves Polk County.
