Does Alleged Vehicle Theft Mean Couple Has Broken Up?
A West Des Moines woman hasn't seen her fiance – or vehicles worth about $48,000 – in six months.

A West Des Moines woman has reportedly had enough.
She told police Monday that she hasn’t seen her fiance – or her $27,000 Jeep or $19,700 Harley Davidson motorcycle – since September.
The woman said she and her fiance moved in together late last summer. Then, on Sept. 1, he took her 2010 Jeep Wrangler to Waterloo, where he’s from, to look for a job.
She hasn't seen him since.
The two, both 49, have been in contact by phone and text message since then. The victim told West Des Moines Police Officer Curtis Russell that her fiance has promised multiple times that he would return the Jeep, but he hasn’t followed through. On Friday, he reportedly told her he would return the vehicle by 10 p.m. Sunday.
After he didn’t show up and failed to answer his phone, she called police. The woman said her fiance also was storing her motorcycle in Waterloo, but it’s never in the location he claims.
“She said he would come up with excuses every time about why they weren’t there,” Russell wrote in his report.
