A family who took their dog into Furry Friends Refuge on Grand Avenue in West Des Moines for a routine procedure are devastated that the animal died in an accident, says KCCI.com.
Mojo was reportedly taken outside on a leash, was spooked, and ran away from handlers. A search for him was called off because of storms. The next day police called the family to say that Mojo was likely hit and killed by a car near the 73rd Street entrance to Interstate 235.
