Compete in a variety of sports from tennis to track to Scrabble®,
meet new friends and reacquaint yourselves with old friends, and enjoy old and
new traditions at the 26th Annual Iowa Senior Olympics, which will be
held during the month of June at various venues around the Des Moines, Iowa
area.

The fee for early registration, up through May 20 is $35.00, after which the
fee goes up to $40. The final day for registration is June 8 at 6 p.m.
Your registration allows you to compete in all of the
sports as well as enjoy the social and Iowa Senior Olympics Hall of Fame
reception scheduled for June 15. The games are open to all individuals who will
be 50 and over by the end of December, 2012. Residents who live outside the
state are welcome to compete as well.

The Games are
scheduled to begin during the weekend of June 1-2 with softball and cycling and
conclude during the weekend of June 14-17. Several events will be added to the
Iowa Senior Olympics this year. Among them are handball, archery and triathlon
(the last two events will be hosted in conjunction with the Iowa Games in
July).
This year will be a qualifying year for the 2013
National Senior Olympics. Over 700 athletes will be competing and over 1,500
medals will be awarded.
