Last Supper Drama

 

               Make your Lenten
observance more meaningful by attending a performance of the Last Supper Drama,
as presented by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church at the West
Des Moines United Methodist Church, 720 Grand Avenue, West Des Moines, IA at 7:30
p.m. on April 5.

               This drama, based
on Leonardo Da Vinci’s well-known painting, shows the disciples of Jesus Christ
around the table after Jesus announces that one of them will betray him, to
which the disciples talk about their association with Jesus Christ and ask, “Is
it I?”.

               To get to the West
Des Moines United Methodist Church, take Interstate-235 to the 8th
Street/73rd Street exit and go south on 8th Street into
West Des Moines. The West Des Moines United Methodist Church is at the
southeast corner of 8th Street and Grand Avenue.

This season marks the 43rd  season for the drama, which is presented by the men of the West Des Moines United Methodist Church. The drama has been presented over
200 venues around the state such as the Iowa State Center, as far away as
Nashville, TN and even on television. About 20 individuals are involved with
the presentation of the drama each year.
