The freshman football team had a big week with two games against Valley. Last Thursday, they fell short of victory with a score of 10- 21, but they had some great plays. Aaron Krah had a great run for a first down, and Jake Hummel had an impressive interception. Josh Paulus also had a key fumble recovery. On Monday, they squared up again and came away with a 32- 26 victory! Connor Pitz had three touchdown runs and Cameron Lang caught a great pass to score as well. Adam Lee and Joe Kern both had interceptions, and Dylan Watters blocked a punt. Well done, Maroons! Come out and cheer on our freshman team- here are their upcoming games: at our home practice field against Ankeny this Thursday, September 12 at 4:30; home again vs. Southeast Polk on Monday, September, 16 at 4:30; and home once again vs. Urbandale on Thursday, September 19 at 4:30.
