Pancake Breakfast
When: August 11, 2013
The West Des Moines Elks Lodge is holding a pancake breakfast from 8:00 am to 12 pm. This all you can eat breakfast includes pancakes, biscuits and gravy, sausage, bacon, scrambled eggs, cheesy potatoes and French toast. This is a fundraiser and held at 7400 Hickman Road.

Bill W. and Dr. Bob
When: Saturday, Aug. 3 - Aug. 11
Where: Des Moines Performing Arts Center, 221 Walnut St.
Join StageWest for a revival of one of the most popular and disucssed plays in our 16-year history. StageWest proudly presented Bill W. and Dr. Bob, the story of the two founders of Alcoholics Anonymous. This production is sponsored by the Powell Chemical Dependency Center at Iowa Lutheran Hospital.
Rex Manning Day Part Deux
When: Saturday, Aug. 10. 9:30 p.m.
Where: Vaudeville Mews, 212 4th St., Des Moines.
Cost: $5 cover
It’s Rex Manning Day Part Deux, a night dedicated to all the things you loved / hoped you’d forget about the ’90s. Featuring ’90s cover sets by Karen Meat & the Players, Kiriko, Kevin the Robot, Annalibera, Wolves in the Attic, New Member Charles, and spinning your ’90s favs are DJ Nice Kicks / DJ RLSTN.
Dance Baby Dance
When: Saturday, Aug. 10. 10 a.m. to noon.
Where: Des Moines Social Club, 400 Walnut St.
What is Dance Baby Dance? It's a family dance party. You come, you dance, you play, you laugh. Participate in group activities or do your own thing. Go to the lobby and take a breather from the action, maybe read some books. Come back in, dance it out. Live show starts at 11am & lasts about 30 minutes. Just right for all attention spans.
