DART Route 11 between downtown Des Moines and Valley Junction in West Des Moines will remain on detour during the partial reopening of the Grand Avenue bridge at 63rd Street starting in December.
Significant traffic congestion is expected on the partially reopened bridge. DART is maintaining the detoured route during this time as an effective way to keep the route on schedule. Until the bridge fully reopens, the same detour will remain in effect:

For riders in the Valley Junction area: A shuttle bus will pick up and drop off customers along the regular route within Valley Junction, then detour around the bridge via 63rd Street, Interstate Highway 235 and 42nd Street. The shuttle bus will connect with another bus at 42nd Street and Ingersoll Avenue.

For riders east of 63rd Street: Bus service will continue to operate on its normal schedule during this time. The bus will stop at 42nd Street for transfers to and from the Valley Junction shuttle bus.
