Jimmy's Big 10 Restaurant & Bar is open and celebrating with a free main course on Tuesday. Fill up on food and sports while helping the YMCA's Y Partners program.
Want to watch some sports while eating a free meal and helping the YMCA's Y Partners program to boot?
You can do that Tuesday, when Jimmy's Big 10 Restaurant & Bar celebrates its opening by offering free meals up to $12 starting at 6 p.m. And, as if that's not tasty enough, Jimmy's is donating $2 for every adult who arrives for the meal.
Jimmy's Big 10, formerly Jimmy's American Cafe, opened Aug. 1 at 1238 8th Street in West Des Moines and boasts three bars, a kitchen, an outdoor patio, a banquet room and 25 big-screen televisions.

Owner Clay Cook said the idea to help out the Y Partners program was based on his personal experiences. The business is located just down the road from the .
"I'm a member, and I thought this would be a good way to show the bar off and do some good at the same time," said Cook, a member of the Y's Healthy Living Center in Clive. "I've had such a good experience, I wanted to give back."

Y Partners is designed to extend the YMCA's youth development, healthy living and social responsibility services to thousands of central Iowans who otherwise would be unable to afford them.
