Gino’s in West Des Moines is Closed, but Gift Certificates Still Good
Discounts will be honored by Baratta's for the next three months.

Customers of Gino’s West Glen, which closed last month, can use gift certificates and cards at one of the metro’s oldest family-owned restaurants, the Des Moines Register reported.
Baratta’s agreed to honor half of the 50 percent of the value of gift certificates and 25 percent of the value of gift cards at the restaurant’s main location, 2320 S. Union St., for the next three months. Customers with Groupon.com or Restaurant.com coupons should be able to get refunds, the newspaper reported.
The Des Moines restaurant stepped up after the Register reporter Lee Rood wrote about a diner’s dilemma in her "Reader’s Watchdog" column.
Gino’s West Glen had been open for about two years when it closed, but the restaurant’s flagship location on Sixth Avenue in Des Moines had been a 46-year tradition in the metro.
