Got Art? Valley Junction's Fall Gallery Night Showcases Artists

Many shops and restaurants in the historic West Des Moines shopping district will also be open late Friday night to serve the public.

Valley Junction art galleries, plus many other shops and restaurants, will be open late Friday for Fall Gallery Night.

According to a news release, six galleries will be open from 5 to 9 p.m. featuring new artwork by regional, national, and international artists. This event is free and open to the public.

In its 17th year, Gallery Night continues to grow as a popular community event.  It is one of the largest merchant events in Historic Valley Junction and a way to rediscover this eclectic and lively shopping district.

The galleries of Historic Valley Junction offer original artwork, custom jewelry, ceramics, glass, furniture, folk art, and fine art reproductions, as well as many other one-of-a-kind objects.

  • Eyebeads & Gemstones, 214 Fifth St.
  • Kavanaugh Art Gallery, 131 Fifth St.
  • Light the Earth, 125 Fifth St.
  • Olson-Larsen Galleries, 203 Fifth St.
  • 2 AU Limited, 200 Fifth St.

In addition to the galleries, five major sponsors and 20 supporting merchants make Gallery Night possible, according to the news release. Gallery Night’s major sponsors are: G. Migs 5Th Street Pub, Hamilton Law Firm, Historic Valley Junction Foundation, Lambert and Ewers Smoked Meats , The Tavern and West Bank.
