How Do They Sort All Those Recyclables?

Curb It! makes recycling easy because residents don’t have to sort their recyclables. But all of that material is sorted eventually, and that happens right here in Des Moines.

We invite you to go behind the scenes, where you will see what happens after your recyclables leave the curb and enter the sorting facility. We bet you’ll have a better understanding of what is recyclable and a greater appreciation for the next water bottle you recycle. Waste Management Recycling is the facility that sorts and resells all recyclables collected in the Curb It! program.
