How to Register to Vote in West Des Moines
In honor of National Voter Registration Day, we're giving you all the information you need on how and where to register to vote.

Today is National Voter Registration Day, and thousands of local, state and national organizations have mobilized to make sure millions of people don’t miss the chance to cast their vote in this year’s elections.
Six million people didn’t vote in the 2008 elections because they either did not know how to register or because they missed the voter registration deadline.
Same-day registration took effect in Iowa on Jan. 1, 2008. There is a voter pre-registration deadline of 10 days prior to primary and general elections and 11 days before all other elections, but you can register after the deadline using the Election Day registration procedure outlined on the Iowa Secretary of State's office.

- Depending on where you reside in West Des Moines, fill out a voter registration form in person at the Polk County Election Office, 120 Second Ave., Suite A, Des Moines, or the Dallas County Election Office, 910 Court St., Adel, IA 50003.
- Download a voter registration form from at this link and mail it to Polk County Election Office, 120 Second Ave., Suite A, Des Moines, IA 50309; or, if you're a Dallas County resident, download it at this link and return it to Dallas County Election Office, 910 Court St., Adel, IA 50003.
