HR Green chosen by Xenia Rural Water District for water plant upgrades
HR Green has been chosen by the Xenia Rural Water District to design upgrades to its Woodward Water Treatment Plant.
HR Green is pleased to announce it has been chosen by the Xenia Rural Water District to design upgrades to its Woodward Water Treatment Plant (WTP) which is approximately 30 years old.
The WTP is a conventional lime softening plant with two shallow alluvial wells for source water. HR Green’s work will include improving source water protection by purchase or an easement on land surrounding the existing wells to meet IDNR wellhead protection requirements; partial removal of ammonia to reduce nitrification in the distribution system; improvements to the lime mixing and removal systems; full rehabilitation of the gravity sand filters, replacement of chemical storage and feed systems; full replacement of electrical and instrumentation systems; and installation of an emergency backup generator.
“We are excited to be working with the Xenia Rural Water District on this upgrade to its facility,” said Project Manager Heath Picken, PE. “Our extensive knowledge in the design, building and operation of these facilities will help us to improve and modernize this facility.
