In Re-Election Bid, Ohmart Says He is an Independent Voice for People
West Des Moines Councilman At-Large Ted Ohmart pledges to make common-sense decisions based on principles and facts, not emotions.

West Des Moines City Councilman Ted Ohmart announced today that he is seeking re-election for his at-large Council seat in Iowa’s fastest growing community.
A 60-year resident and local business owner, he has served in leadership positions in numerous city government and Des Moines metro area organizations.
In a news release, Ohmart said he is an independent voice on the West Des Moines City Council, representing the interests of all the residents., and that he is a proven leader whose vision and experience have helped West Des Moines become the most successful city in Iowa.

“It has been an honor and privilege to serve the citizens of West Des Moines these past years,” Ohmart said in the announcement. “I will serve with honesty and integrity, making common-sense decisions based on principle and on facts, not emotions.
"I will work hard to maintain the high level of city services we currently enjoy, to balance spending for capital projects between improving existing infrastructure and new infrastructure needed for our growing community, and to support economic development in compliance with the City’s Comprehensive Plan," he said. " I will continue to be a good steward of our tax dollars."
