Iowa Alcoholic Beverage Commission Elects New Chairperson
The new chairperson is a graduate of Drake University and a Des Moines native.

The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Commission has elected new officers for fiscal year 2014 and West Des Moines resident Claire Celsi will serve as the Commission’s Chairperson.
Celsi, a Des Moines native, was appointed to the Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Commission on May 1, 2010, and has previously served as Vice Chair and Secretary for the Commission.
Celsi is employed as Director of Public Relations at Lessing-Flynn Advertising in Des Moines. She is a graduate of Drake University and a frequent lecturer at her alma mater, where she has taught in the Business School and School of Journalism and Mass Communications. Celsi is also a member of Drake's School of Journalism and Mass Communications National Advisory Board.
“Ms. Celsi’s years of experience in public relations and interest in social responsibility and public health are valuable assets to the Commission. I look forward to working with her in her new capacity as Chairperson,” said Division Administrator Stephen Larson.

Rick Hunsaker, of Carroll, was elected as Vice Chair. He is in his second term and has served on the Commission since 2006. Tami Doll, of Council Bluffs, was elected as Secretary for fiscal year 2014. Jay Wilson of Johnston and James Clayton of Iowa City also serve on the Commission.
The Iowa Alcoholic Beverages Commission is comprised of five members appointed by the governor for five-year staggered terms. Commissions are usually balanced by gender, political affiliation, geographic location and diversity. Commissioners are chosen based on their managerial ability and experience as business executives. The Commission acts as a policy-making body and advisors to the Division administrator in the wholesaling, licensing and regulating of Iowa’s alcoholic beverages industry. Commissioners are eligible for one five-year reappointment.
