Labor Day Gas Prices: Where’s the Cheapest Gas in West Des Moines?

If you were expecting gas prices to continue dropping as we get close to Labor Day, think again. The tension in Syria is causing nervousness among investors and that’s being blamed in part for a 15-cent jump in Iowa gas prices earlier this week, the Des Moines Register reports.

Tom Kloza, chief oil analyst at price tracker GasBuddy.com said the tension is having different effects in different parts of the country.

"In some portions of the country, those increases are translating into a few bumps higher, and in other areas, the slow drift to lower (pump prices) has been put in limbo," he said. "Bottom line, we'll be paying perhaps in the low $3.60s this weekend, and God willing, the last 120 days of the year should see prices at or below those levels, once crude calms down.”
