LIFESPACE COMMUNITIES AND WESLEYLIFE HOST IOWA PREMIERE OF AWARD-WINNING GLEN CAMPBELL FILM
Family of the Music Legend and Film's Director to Attend Premiere of "Glen Campbell … I'll Be Me" – the Story of Glen Campbell's Alzheimer's
DES MOINES, Iowa – Lifespace Communities and WesleyLife, two locally based nonprofit organizations that own and operate senior living communities, are collaborating to host the Iowa premiere of “Glen Campbell … I’ll Be Me”, the powerful portrait of Glen Campbell’s music career and journey with Alzheimer’s. The exclusive screening will take place on Friday, February 27, and doors will open at 6 p.m. The event is free and open to the public. Advance ticket registration is required.
Following the award-winning documentary, James Keach, the film’s director, will lead a panel discussion. Campbell’s son, Shannon, and daughter, Ashley, will also be in attendance to share their passion for music with a special concert performance.
“We have the privilege to work with older adults on a daily basis, and often see firsthand the impact Alzheimer’s has on families and their loved ones,” said Rob Kretzinger, president and CEO of WesleyLife. “This event really allows us to spread the message and help those affected understand they are not alone.”

According to the Iowa Alzheimer’s Association, more than 70,000 older adults in Iowa have Alzheimer’s, and the state has the third-highest Alzheimer’s death rate in the country. This exclusive screening will help bring awareness to a disease that affects someone new every 67 seconds.
“We thought it was important to bring the premiere to Iowa and help raise awareness about this disease that impacts more than five million older adults in the United States every year,” said Sloan Bentley, president and CEO of Lifespace Communities. “Glen Campbell is such an icon in the country music world, and his on-screen battle with Alzheimer’s is extremely moving.”
In addition to five film awards already received, “Glen Campbell … I’ll Be Me” was a three-time Grammy Award nominee and won Grammys for Best Country Song and Best Country Duo/Group Performance. The movie is also nominated for an Oscar at the Academy Awards later this month.
