LIFESPACE COMMUNITIES NAMES LISA LAVIA RYAN AS NEW DIRECTOR OF COMMUNICATIONS

Ryan to Fill New Position at one of Nation's Largest Nonprofit Senior Living Organizations

Lifespace Communities Inc., not-for-profit operator of 12 senior living communities in seven states, names Lisa Lavia Ryan as its new director of communications.


In her new position, Ryan will oversee all Lifespace Communities’ internal and external communications, including social media, organizational newsletters and other publications, corporate reports and executive communication.

Ryan brings more than 20 years of experience as a journalist and writer, as well as over 10 years of experience in corporate communications with companies in the mortgage, financial and health insurance fields.

“The importance of communicating effectively goes without saying, and Lisa will be a tremendous asset to the Lifespace family for our continued growth and success,” says Kimberly Hulett, vice president of sales and marketing for Lifespace Communities. “Lisa has a proven ability to deliver compelling messages to stakeholders across a variety of channels, and we look forward to her sharing the stories of how we celebrate the lives of seniors.”

Prior to joining Lifespace, Ryan’s experience includes serving as a news writer for The Des Moines Register, in addition to serving as assistant vice president and senior content strategist for Wells Fargo Home Mortgage, and holding marketing communications management positions at Principal Financial Group and at Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield.

“I have a personal connection to senior living through my father and developed an affinity for older adults, their families and people who serve them,” Ryan says.


“Lifespace is an organization dedicated to the resident experience and a great culture in its communities, and I feel I can use my skills to make a positive difference in people’s lives.”


Ryan earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism from Drake University.
