Local Artists Vying for Your Vote in West Des Moines Public Art Exhibit
The exhibit features eight different works displayed in eleven different locations around the West Des Moines City/School campus pond.
If you've taken a stroll around the West Des Moines City/School Campus, you may have noticed some new art while out and about.
The sculptures are part of the inagural "Art on the Campus", a temporary public art exhibit that will be up now through Sept. 30. The exhibit features eight different works displayed in eleven different locations around the campus pond.
In early 2013 Iowa artists were invited to submit entires for the exhibit, based on the theme "West Des Moines...Positioned Perfectly for Community Vitality." The works presented offer different expressions of that theme.
Touring the exhibit is free, and the display features public art by five different artists from Iowa, including:

The public is encouraged to vote for their favorite piece. This can be done here once you've viewed them all.The exhibit is sponsored by Prairie Meadows Community Betterment Grant, Bravo Greater Des Moines Capital Campaign and Project Grant, and The City of West Des Moines. Funding was also provided from the West Des Moines Community Enrichment Foundation and the West Des Moines Development Connection.
