London 2012 Olympic Gymnastic Sweetheart Gabby Douglas Signs Book Deal

The first of two books is due out in December.

She’s just 16 and she already has a book deal.

London 2012 Olympics gymnastics sweetheart Gabby Douglas has signed a two-book deal to write her memoir, Grace, Gold, and Glory: My Leap of Faith.

The first of the two books the double gold medal winner  will write for Harper Collins’ Zondervan division is due out in December. According to Today.com, 12 companies were interested in publishing the book.

"I want people to read my story and say, 'If Gabby can do it, I can do it too. Anything is possible,' " Douglas  reportedly said.

Douglas, who lives in West Des Moines and trains at , won gold in the individual all-around competition – the first African-American to do so and the third consecutive American to win gymnastics’ top prize,  and as part of the women’s gymnastics team.

She moved to Iowa from her home in Virginia Beach, VA at age 14.

According to the Times, Douglas said her first book will include "how much my family and I have overcome during our journey. It hasn't been easy."

She will also mention her deep Christian faith, according to Today
