MCC 50: Thanksgiving Throwdown

Typically referred to as the year’s biggest mixed martial
arts event in the state of Iowa, the Midwest’s most popular promotion, Midwest
Cage Championship will certainly not disappoint fight fans this year, as the
card has been set, and amongst the crop of exciting fighters, the promotion
announces a title fight in the vacant welterweight division as well as the
return of two-time UFC veteran T.J. “The Spider” O’Brien as he takes on the
tough and always exciting South Dakota native, Doug Jenkins in the co-main
event of the evening.

The November 27 main event at MCC 50 will feature a battle
in the welterweight division between Ben Crowder and Mark Stoddard.  Crowder, a hard hitting mixed martial artist
who has been ripping through the competition for the past year, including wins
over Andy “The Bully” Stock and former middleweight champion, Mike “Mini Van”
Van Meer, earned his title shot with the welterweight belt currently vacant
since being retired by Andy “Danger Zone” Branson.  Crowder, who is enjoying the longest winning
streak of his career will face off against King of the Cage veteran and fellow
slugger, Mark Stoddard; a fighter known for putting his opponents away in
devastating fashion and only going the distance in three of his fourteen
fights.  Stoddard also holds a win over
the highly regarded, Ronnie Britt at last years’ Thanksgiving Throw Down.
