Mom Who Allegedly No Longer Wants Tot Leaves Her in West Des Moines Driveway
Custody arrangements will be discussed before a Polk County family court judge next week.

Police are considering filing charges against a woman who told her ex-boyfriend that she no longer wanted custody of their young daughter before leaving the child in the man's driveway.
A West Des Moines man filed an April 10 report with police on the advice of his attorney after his former girlfriend called him, espoused her hatred for him and said she no longer wanted custody of their 2-year-old daughter.
The toddler’s father told West Des Moines Police Officer Jess Bill that his former girlfriend “pulled into the drive, took the child out of the car and placed her in the drive, then got back into her car and left.”
The matter is set for a hearing before a Pok County family court judge next week. In the meantime, the child’s father told police he wants what happened on the record because the girl's mother has both full legal custody of the child and a no-contact order in place against the father.
The restraining order prohibits the chlld’s parents from talking to one another, except on the phone about the child’s care. The toddler’s mother is the protected party.
Police said the restraining order was issued before the man was cleared of domestic abuse charges. Police now are considering filing charges against the mother for violating the terms of the order, according to the report.
