More Legal Troubles for Embattled West Des Moines Businessman John Vratsinas
New Jersey-based companies claim losses of nearly $56,000 in separate lawsuits.

Complaints continue to mount for troubled West Des Moines businessman John Vratsinas and his staffing companies, ICL Staffing LLC and its parent company, Iowa Construction Logistics LLC.
An attorney for two New Jersey companies, Gracious Home Care LLC and Home Care With Love Inc., have alleged in separate lawsuits filed in Polk County District Court last month that Vratsinas and his companies failed to pay federal and New Jersey state taxes, the Des Moines Business Record’s Kent Darr reported.

The lawsuits were filed by Urbandale attorney Julia Ofenbakh, founder and a board of member of one Home Care With Love. She said her business and Gracious Home Care contracted with Vratsinas’s businesses for payroll services in 2010.
Home Care With Love claimed $43,701 in damages and alleged that Vratsinas improperly withdrew $32,964 in funds designated for payroll taxes, the newspaper reported. Gracious Home Care claimed $12,180 in damages, plus accruing penalties and fines.

Vratsinas has cleared some $6 million in liens related to non-payment withholding tax payments that should have been made on behalf of client businesses.
