Nativity Set display raises over $3,000 for Habitat for Humanity

West Des Moines church's display of nativity attracted almost 1,000 visitors from around the state.

The 11th annual No Room at the Inn Nativity display, held December 5-7 at Valley United Methodist Church, raised over $3,000 for Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity.
The event attracted 994 visitors from around the state who viewed over 378 uniquely displayed nativity sets. Among them were one made of nails, one made of cow’s horns, one made of bamboo, one made of banana leaves, a set of Hummel figures (rare and expensive), several stained glass sets, and one made of olive wood from Jerusalem.
There were many first-time visitors to this event. Others were visiting again, making visits to No Room at the Inn an annual Christmas tradition for their families.
