No Collection Delay Due to MLK Jr. Holiday

Garbage and recyclables will be collected as usual the week of Jan. 20. There will be NO delay due to Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Metro Waste Authority Facility Holiday Hours
All Metro Waste Authority facilities, including Metro Park East and Metro Park West Landfills, will have regular hours on MLK Jr. Day.

2014 Holiday Delays
Garbage, recycling and yard waste are not collected on major holidays, causing a one-day delay.  Those holidays, along with the specific days impacted are:

• Memorial Day (May 26) –entire week
• Independence Day (July 4) – Friday’s delayed to Saturday
• Labor Day (Sept. 1) –entire week
• Thanksgiving (Nov. 27) – Thursday's & Friday’s delayed one day
• Christmas (Dec. 25) – Thursday's & Friday’s delayed one day
• New Year’s Day (Jan. 1) –Thursday's & Friday’s delayed one day

Know When to Recycle, Pick up a Calendar Magnet at City Hall
We invite all Curb It! participants to stop by their local City Hall to pick up a 2014 collection calendar magnet. It’s often hard to remember what week to take the recycling cart to the curb. Our magnet can serve as a convenient reference inside your home, rather than running out to your Curb It! cart to check. Neither Metro Waste Authority, nor the cities, can mail them due to the expense. You can also download and print a copy of the 2014 Curb It! Collection Calendar.
