The Independence Day parade in West Des Moines consisted of a variety of floats, public safety vehicles, dance squads, public officials and more. The parade lineup took place on Valley West Drive just north of Ashworth Road (the normal lineup area at Valley High School was closed due to construction at Valley High School). From there, the parade went about three miles to the Valley Junction area.
