The Tavern Pizza, 205 Fifth St., 255-9827: The Tavern Pizza was founded in Historic Valley Junction in 1945. In 1950 Tavern Pizza added The Grinder sandwich to their menu and it has been a local favorite ever since. The Grinder is an Italian sausage simmered in a special sauce, served on a baked hoagie bun, topped with mozzarella cheese and available for $7.75.
