PATCH POLL: Should West Des Moines Schools Ban Grinding at Dances?
Valley High School students overwhelmingly said "no" in a mock election. What do you think?

In a mock election last week, West Des Moines Valley High School students overwhelmingly rejected the notion of a ban on grinding, a dance that critics say simulaties sexual acts.
Of the nearly 1,100 students who voted on the question, 818 said they would boycott dances if such a ban were put in place.
The West Des Moines school board hasn't taken a position on the issue, but the idea of a ban has been discussed informally by Valley's administrative team and a committee of parents and educators, said Assistant Principal David Maxwell.
