Police Seeking Details on Man Who Asked Girl at Soccer Park to Come to His Car
The suspicious incident happend May 18 at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex in West Des Moines. Police are asking the public to call if they saw the encounter.
West Des Moines Police are asking the public to call if they saw a suspicious encounter between a man and a girl last weekend at Hidden Valley Soccer Complex.
Public Information Officer Lt. Jim Barrett said that at about 9 a.m. May 18 the parent of a 7-year-old girl reported a man in the parking lot of the soccer complex approached the girl. The man reportedly asked the girl if she wanted to come to his car to have a brownie. The girl declined and walked away from the man.
The complex is located at 1875 Walnut Woods Drive.

The only description of the man that the girl could provide is that he was a black man.
At this time it is not clear what the motive was behind the subject approaching the girl, police said.
