Porn Stuffed in His Pants, Suspect Allegedly Leaves West Des Moines Store Without Paying
A clerk at Christal's says she can identify the man, who is a regular customer of the adult novelty store.

A clerk at an adult novelty store told West Des Moines police that she could identify a 52-year-old West Des Moines man who entered the store early Thursday morning, allegedly stuffed two pornographic DVDs in his pants and left the store without paying for them.
A clerk at Christal’s, 840 First St., told Officer Amanda St. George that the man is a regular customer of the store. Newton said she told the customer, whose identity was given to police, that the store was about to close. When he lingered, she wrote down his truck’s license plate.
The clerk said that as she was assisting another customer, she saw the man acting suspiciously. He had gathered two or three multi-packs of DVDs and was looking at others. She said she saw the man shoving the DVDs, which it was later determined had been removed from packaging, into his pants.
She returned her attention to the customer at the counter, and when she looked at the suspect again, he had only one DVD in his hand.
He eventually paid for it, but after he left, the clerk discovered some of the two- and three-pack DVDs he had been handling and two DVDs, each valued at $16, were missing.
