Throughout April at The Keg Stand, 3530 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines, a dollar from each Summit pint sale will benefit local animal shelter Furry Friends Refuge. Furry Friends, The Keg Stand and partner Doll Distributing urge you to “drink doggy style” for this worthy cause.
Furry Friends Refuge is a nonprofit humane organization serving the animals of West Des Moines, Urbandale and Clive. The volunteer-supported shelter adopted out 1,077 animals last year for a live-release rate of 97 percent, and it seeks to expand its no-kill community beyond these borders.
