Roll Out the Barrel, Baby! It’s National Polka Festival Day

By all means, check out comedian Willie Farrell at The Funny Bone Comedy Club and have some fun at Fridays at the Fountain in West Glen Town Center, but you might also want to note little-known holidays surrounding catfish and sauntering.

The weekend is packed with the potential for lots of fun and it’s going to be a challenge to get them all in.

Just don’t forget to roll out the barrel.

August is also National Catfish Month, National Golf Month, National Eye Exam Month, National Water Quality Month, Romance Awareness Month, Peach Month and Foot Health Month.

Who’s down with a few rounds of golf, followed by a romantic catfish dinner with peach cobbler for dessert, polka dancing until you can’t see straight, and a late-night foot massage? Fortunately, Saturday is Lazy Day.

Just don’t pull that catfish from the Raccoon River if you’re interested in water quality.

Sadly, Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Night is over, but Blame Someone Else, National Failures Day, Bad Poetry Day and World Sauntering Day are still on the horizon.

That last one has great potential.
